The LSE is a global centre for teaching and research and contributes more than £400 million a year to the UK economy. The campus accommodates 9000 students and 3000 staff however all of these people, including the LSE's 15 Noble Prize winners, currently put up with a campus that lacks both key facilities and attractive public realm.
The LSE has embarked upon a major programme of development and improvement including the New Student Services Building which is to provide a comprehensive range of student services and amenities. The architects, O'Donnell Tuomey, were chosen by international competition and their proposed nine storey landmark building is of the highest quality of contemporary and advanced sustainable design.
Our role is to provide the planning strategy and to navigate the planning process in order to deliver this challenging building in the context of local political scrutiny along with the demolition of existing building of merit and the wider conservation area setting. This involves persuasive advocacy of the architectural approach and co-ordination, submission and negotiation of the Planning Application.
We have built a strong client relationship and have now won repeat commissions:
Permission has been granted to redevelop the existing office building with a residential led mixed use proposal...
Award winning residential led, mixed use, landmark scheme on a sensitive and challenging urban site...
The proposed new Student Centre will provide an important addition to the LSE's evolving campus...
