Turley Associates’ Role:
- Ongoing advice on planning strategy associated with Submission of Planning Application and Environmental Statement, and coordination of work with EIA team
- Due diligence review of all submissions made in connection with the applications for planning consent and PPC Permit
- Preparation of elements of the Environmental Statement
- Preparation of detailed Planning Statement
- Co-ordination of design strategy for new power station
- Co-ordination and liaison with various statutory agencies and other stakeholders on the evolution of the project
- Community consultation to provide information on the project as it evolved and identify and alleviate concerns and queries as these arise
- Preparation of general and technical information sheets for issue in community and interested parties
- Preparation of draft Heat Plan (as part of CHP option)
- Preparation of Draft Planning Conditions
Results:
- Wide awareness of project amongst local groups and individuals but only modest levels of concerns raised to date
- Understanding of importance of project to area and national targets within senior officers in Fife Council – now championing project
- Submission of Planning Application and EIA on target (April 2007)
- Avoidance of Objections from critical statutory consultee (SEPA & SNH)
- Planning consent granted subject to completion of a Section 75 Agreement (January 2008)
