DURHAM TEES VALLEY AIRPORT LIMITED

Planning permissions granted for expansion of airport including extension and refurbishment of passenger terminal, new cargo and maintenance village, 18,600 sq m (200,000 sq ft) business park, passenger car parks, taxiway and apron improvements.

  • Advice on planning strategy and tactics
  • Scope Environmental Impact Assessment
  • Co-ordinate design and technical team, economic impact assessment, transport assessment and design statement
  • Co-ordinate and prepare Environmental Statement
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, Environmental Statement, and planning statements
  • Liaison with Local Planning Authorities and principal consultees
  • Inputs to public consultation and exhibition
  • Address issues raised in public consultation
  • Inputs to Airport Masterplan to 2030
  • Representations on Regional Spatial Strategy and Joint Tees Valley Structure Plan
  • Draft and present evidence to Regional Spatial Strategy EIP
  • Negotiate conditions and Section 106 Agreement

Results:

  • Airport expansion approved subject to S106 Agreement
  • Business Park approved without call-in
  • Expansion will open up new markets and tourist opportunities for the Tees Valley region
  • Development will create upto 3,500 jobs
  • Investment will transform the appearance of the Airport
