Identification of a long term strategy for the reinforcement and expansion of operational Port lands.

Turley Associates’ Role:

• Preparation of detailed assessment of the port of Belfast’s future development needs
•  Advice on general Planning Strategy
• Submission of detailed long term ‘vision’ for the port of Belfast as part of the BMAP Development Plan process
• Liaison with Planning Service, Department for Regional Development, Belfast Metropolitan Area Plan Team and key stake holders
• Preparation of outline planning application for new Stenaline Ferry Terminal
  

Results:

• Submission of detailed objections to draft BMAP in January 2005 and August 2007
• Appearance at BMAP Inquiry sessions (Stages I and II) on behalf of the Client
• Outline Planning Approval for Stenaline Terminal June 2005
• Very successful outcome at BMAP with many policy difficulties resolved through negotiation with the Department
