Relocation of Anfield to provide a new 60,000 seater stadium for Liverpool Football Club acting as a catalyst for the regeneration of the Anfield/Breckfield area of the city.

Turley Associates’ Role:

  • Co-ordination of multi-disciplinary professional team
  • Identification and review of alternative sites
  • Community consultation programme
  • Liaison with Government Office, Sport England, English Heritage, Liverpool City Council and other statutory, amenity and community bodies
  • Scoping and co-ordination of Environmental Statement
  • Preparation of planning application, supporting information and studies, and associated planning negotiations
  • Co-ordination of presentation to CABE design review committee
  • Presentation of scheme to planning committee
  • Lead negotiations with Liverpool City Council on S.106
  • Liaison with Government Office to avoid call-in
  • Co-ordination of information to discharge planning conditions
  • Co-ordination of new planning application in July 2007 to reflect aspirations of new ownership

Results:

  • Planning permission granted April 2006 and for revised scheme in June 2008
  • All conditions on both applications discharged
