Reprovision of existing hospital within its current site. The existing hospital is of mixed age and requires extensive modernisation in order to meet the needs of the NHS Plan and modern healthcare. The project involved significant clinical new build and a series of service moves within the existing site.

Turley Associates’ Role:

  • Strategic planning advice to Consort throughout the PFI bidding process
  • Contributions to Outline and Final Business Cases and the Invitation to Negotiate stages
  • Preparation of planning statement for application and advice to Balfour Beatty
  • Advice on improving access to town centre
  • Negotiations with council
  • Stakeholder consultation

Results:

  • Planning permission granted
  • Project on site 2006, completion early 2009
