PROLOGIS DEVELOPMENTS

The redevelopment of a 26 ha (64 acre) former landfill site for a sustainable employment park comprising 50,000 sq m (535,000 sq ft) distribution facility, 10,000 sq m (100,000 sq ft) of SME (small/medium enterprises) units along with 13 ha (32.5 acres) of habitat creation and landscaping.  The design of the scheme is based around leading sustainable technologies including advanced air/heat loss materials, solar air heating systems, photovoltaic panels, green walls, grey water recycling, sustainable drainage systems and large areas of habitat creation. 

Turley Associates’ Role:

  • Advice on planning strategy and tactics
  • Co-ordinate design and technical team
  • Oversee EIA preparation
  • Oversee/advice on public consultation strategy
  • Prepare and submit 2 separate planning applications and supporting documents for 2 alternative schemes
  • Address issues raised through public consultation
  • Negotiate S106 agreement
  • Prepare and submit ancillary application for earthworks/site re-profiling
  • Ongoing discharge of planning conditions

Results:

  • Planning permission secured in January 2007 and December 2007
