ORDNANCE SURVEY & TRUSTEES OF THE BARKER MILL ESTATE
Outline planning consent via a hybrid application to develop the 32ha (79.1a) Adanac Park site to deliver an innovative business park safeguarded for large scale users, which will create 4,000 new jobs and will form an enterprise gateway into Southampton. The Ordnance Survey will be the first business to take up residence on the site, relocating their headquarters to create a new 16 409 sq m (176 625 sq ft) office building. The remaining 59 118 sq m (636 341 sq ft) will be for high quality office, research and manufacturing uses set in extensively landscaped grounds, natural habitats and incorporating a sustainable drainage system.
In addition to the Masterplan, the Design Code produced will ensure that the development will be well-designed and built to a high standard, establishing clear design parameters within which future development can take place.
Turley Associates’ Role:
- Advice on planning strategy and tactics
- Co-ordination of multi-disciplinary professional team
- Identification and review of alternative sites
- Liaison with Highways Agency, Hampshire County Council and Test Valley Borough Council
- Preparation of hybrid planning application
- Production of Masterplan, Design and Access Statement, Design Code and supporting information and studies
- Input into Environmental Statement including Socio-economic assessment and cumulative impact assessment
- Lead negotiations with Test Valley Borough Council on S106 Agreement
- Presentation to South East Regional Design Panel
