Designing for the future

With over 25 years experience in the industry, Head of Urban Design and Masterplanning, Michael, has been with Turley Associates for four years, and has played an integral part in the company’s growth. Michael will join the board with immediate effect, the first in over three years to be appointed.

The prestigious Gherkin in London was the venue chosen to mark the occasion, its stunning views over the City of London welcomed over 240 people including key clients such as Land Securities, Abstract Land, Henderson Global Investors, Brookfield Multiplex and Lend Lease Retail.

Michael has led a variety of planning and urban design schemes during his time with the company, including a residential led development of 800 homes at Stanmore for Berkeley Homes, a mixed-use regeneration of a former dockyard at Dartmouth, a new hospital at Watford and a strategic masterplan for a sustainable urban extension at Daventry.

Also announced on the night was the approval of the £1 billion Watford Health Campus masterplan, the planning application for which was led by Turley Associates.

Michael added; “We are a dynamic and innovative consultancy and it is an honour to be appointed to the board to help further grow the business, continue to foster important client relationships and to help safeguard its special ethos as a great employer.

“Urban Design has grown to be a fundamental part of the planning process, rather than a second thought. Our team of over 40 urban design experts focuses on design led planning projects, something increasingly important to the future of the industry.”

Rob Lucas, Managing Director for Turley Associates commented; “We are pleased to welcome Michael to the board. This coupled with the celebration of our 25 year mark cements our position in the market and the continued strength of our business.”
