Moffatt & Nichol and Turley Associates are instructed to develop a port Master Plan for St Peter Port and St Sampson Port. The Master Plan must enhance the existing commercial operation as well as provide improved access for tourists and potential for leisure uses. The process included a full appraisal, including financial, of the potential options to ensure the Master Plan is deliverable and viable.

Turley Associates conducted a full engagement programme incorporating innovative techniques to ensure buy-in to the proposals and an open and transparent process. The process and strategy included a series of stakeholder meetings and focus groups followed by a public drop-in session; a follow-up series of workshop sessions and a further public drop-in session; and finally a large-scale public exhibition to display the proposed Master Plan. At each stage summary reports were prepared to show the community how the ideas were being formulated and how its feedback had been incorporated. A website ran alongside the formal events to provide another means of keeping in touch with the project. The approach secured local buy-in to the proposals resulting in a supported and deliverable Master Plan for the ports.
