We have promoted the lateral expansion of lands at West Lisburn through the review of the development plan, successfully changing the draft Belfast Metropolitan Area Plan's industrial zoning to one of mixed use, including a 50:50 balance between business campus uses and a new residential neighbourhood.
We prepared a concept masterplan and environmental statement in support of an initial outline planning application. Successful revisions were then agreed with the Department through the Belfast Metropolitan Area Plan Inquiry for 150 ha site to be equally developed for business campus and new residential neighbourhood, subject to agreeing overall development framework. This properly addressed the delivery of key strategic direction within the overarching regional development strategy for the lateral expansion of West Lisburn.
The preparation of the development framework document includes the comprehensive analysis of the movement corridors within the site, urban design parameters and principles, open space and public realm, and the phasing approach to site delivery.
