Planning consultants Turley Associates has appointed James Anderson as Head of Local Engagement as its nationwide local engagement practice continues to expand.

James joined the consultancy in November from Camargue, where he was a Senior Account Manager looking after a portfolio of property and development clients. He was previously Assistant Director at the British Property Federation, focusing on policies affecting large-scale commercial and residential landlords and developers. He replaces Claire Cope, who is taking time out from her role to start a family.

Turley Associates’ local engagement team works across all property sectors creating bespoke engagement strategies to support and successfully deliver complex planning permissions. It advises on engagement methodologies across the UK and leads on strategy, communication and organisation, exhibitions, workshops and meetings, liaison with stakeholders and mitigation and publicity.

The company is leading major engagement programmes around the redevelopment of Milford Docks in Pembrokeshire and on the Durham Tees Valley Airport masterplan.
