Peel Group announces final public consultation for Wirral Waters.

On Thursday 29th July 2010, members of the public will be given their final chance to support the largest regeneration project in the UK, Wirral Waters, from 7pm at the Williamson Art Gallery in Birkenhead. Turley Associates have been providing planning advice to Peel on the project since its launch in 2006.

The presentation will be given by Peel Director Lindsey Ashworth and will explain how Wirral Waters has evolved over the last few years and what changes have been made to satisfy concerns raised prior to the scheme going to planning committee on the 3rd August. The presentation will explain the final proposed regeneration scheme which hopes to transform the derelict docks in Birkenhead into a magnificent “sky scraper” style mixed use development through a £4.5 billion investment.

Turley Associates, as representatives of Peel, will be in attendance to answer questions and there will be beautiful high tech graphics and video imagery of the scheme. Participants will be offered the chance to fill out questionnaires in support of the project.

On 3rd August Wirral Planning Committee, which commences at 6.15 pm, will decide whether or not Wirral Waters should be granted planning permission, enabling the creation of over 20,000 permanent new jobs.
